

Born into a family of weavers in Nishijin, Yasumi Mori aspired to pursue a career in dyeing and weaving from an early age. Studying under his mother, Yukiko Mori, a kimono researcher, he has continued to explore classic Japanese patterns and traditional colors that create elegant and chic kimono styles. She will talk about the charm of kimonos honestly using the wide range of knowledge about dyeing and weaving that she has learned in this way.


Principal of Nishijin Japanese Dress Institute, Kimono Researcher Yukiko Mori was born and raised in Kyoto. Since 1984, she has been producing her own brand “Yukiko Collection” and has been presenting it every year since then. While introducing traditional Japanese culture as a researcher of Heian and Kabuki costumes, she has been a lecturer at public lectures at Waseda University, Kyoto Women’s University, and Kyoto Institute of Technology, Kyoto City Institute of Industrial Technology and Miyako Textile Technology Center. She has introduced kimono shows and the Juni-hitoe kimono in Paris, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and other cities. She is active not only in Japan but also in other countries around the world.


Born in 1997 in Kyoto to a family involved in the kimono industry, Kusaki became familiar with “kimonos” from an early age, which also became a source of admiration.During his school days, he played basketball. After graduating from high school, he joined Kawashima Orimono Selkon and devoted himself to the company.His meticulous and daring work strengthened both his weaving skills and his passion for making things. After that, he had a fateful encounter with “Yasujiro VII” and was so impressed by his works that he joined Nishijin Kikou Co.Studied under Yukiko Mori and Yasujiro, and began to work in the traditional industry again. The hard work, perseverance, and imagination that he has acquired through all of his experiences are carried on in his careful craftsmanship, and he devotes himself daily to spreading “kimono” to the world as a young New Wave.


After studying piano at university, she studied makeup and coloring while working in the apparel industry.
After marrying into the Mori family, every time she came in contact with kimonos, she was drawn to their charms.
She is constantly studying how to coordinate her kimono styles from classic to modern casual wear and with accessories.
